Matterhorn

Verde Canyon Railroad tracks direction desert flats...

This rather reflects the state of my being lately
a little desolation is good for the soul I think,
allows the spirit to regenerate and grow...

  1. You're absolutely right, JR. Pulling off to the siderails is necessary sometimes. I pity anyone who thinks that isn't true. Not to sound like Mr.T LOL but I do pity them.

I say all this as a man who wakes up every day with a feeling that honesty is hard to find. It's a cruddy and gainless thing to waste my time waking up to. So easy to fall into the thought that things are hopeless; it's easy for me anyway. Way too easy. Time to get busy. At exactly what I'm not sure, but getting busy at something good? Yeah; it's time.

This is very inspiring. Thank you for it, JR.

    1. To "re-purpose" Flannery O'Connor short story title A Good Man Is Hard to Find into as we say Out West "good people" are what is hard to come across these days. Nonetheless sometimes you do out of seemingly nowhere and someone you might lest expect.

In this day and age it's easy to feel hopeless since economically, socially and politically things have "gone to Hell in a hand basket" as my aunt used to say. This is a good time to get busy, write, create, take a walk, exercise, take care of business, whatever it takes. I have lots of days recently where I wake up not wanting to get out of bed but once I get busy at something good it does get better.

Appreciate the comment and your stopping by a great deal Mike. Thanks for that, it's inspiring to me.
