I do cook most of mine, though, and I almost never eat fast food; I'm not sure why that would be, honestly, but it's just not something I ever got in the habit of doing and when it happens (maybe once a year) it's a treat, but not enough of one to lure me back quickly for more. I guess I just don't have the fast-food thing in me.<br /><br />I eat a lot of beans and rice, and I make killer tacos; I do it all in a rice cooker and it tastes great. I used to buy burritos and think they were good, but now I know I can make them much tastier (and cheaper).<br /><br />As for the mind/body thing, I totally agree. I work at a place where almost every birthday or special occasion is met with lots of doughnuts and things. I avoid them, mostly because the last thing I want at 9AM is sweets. It makes me an outsider, sort of, but I deal with it.<br /><br />None of this is to say I am anywhere near perfect in adherence to the things you say here; i just think that like most things in life little increments are helpful.<br /><br />Great post, JR.
