I also never realized until lately why it has always bugged me when, on payday, people love to announce that "it's already spent". Two very distinct situations, and both of them proving your point.<br /><br />I also think you are right about the work-to-consume mentality needing to be tossed out. It never really made any sense, and it hasn't grown in logic lately...I would LOVE to see a country of people with money (maybe not a lot, but at least some) who could see some stupid fad come along and say, no, we don't want that. I think some truly interesting and useful things would come out of it...not that being able to pay for phone ring tones isn't important, but...you get my point.<br /><br />Anyway, I am definitely with you on this.
