3 Reasons The FCC Shouldn't "Touch" The Internets...

The very last thing we need is an analog electromechanical bureaucracy, from the last century, thrusting itself unwanted on a new digital technology for this century.

1. Where's the fire?

2. The FCC F2%#ING SUCKS

  1. I sent a message before that got lost before it got through, but I remember the gist of it:

    LIGHT TOUCH MY ASS!

That might be rude, but I trust no government officials and this FCC director seems awfully friendly-looking and I more than ANYTHING don't trust government people like that.

That said, I loved seeing the ARPANET map. I looked at it for awhile and I'm sure I'll look at it some more. Doesn't mean I'll ever understand it but it's neat to see the tech roots of what opened up this chance to type to you. If you get this message, I'll assume no government intermediaries were needed, however light of touch.

Cool post, JR. They all are.

  2. Kinda cool the way the internet grew under the governments nose and they just though it was for geeks and brainiacs. Whodathunkit?

That is until it started becoming a popular commercial exercise. For some reason I get the feeling that a lot of these regulatory people are just jealous types.

I have lots of old telephone and arpanet maps, keep thinking they may be worth something some day!
